This course will explore the industry of interior environments. Careers in housing, home furnishings and interior design will be investigated. Individual characteristics and skills necessary for career success will be studied. Labs will focus on creating livable spaces and the expression of personality while decorating those spaces.

This class begins with a thorough study into human nutrition and dietary standards. The students then learn to produce healthy and appetizing foods, to practice healthy lifestyles, and to encourage others to practice healthy living. This class begins with personal development, then covers relationshipo skills, family living, parenting, and child development. Studies will follow the department of the individual and the family from prenatal stages to the senior years and death. Parenting

This class assesses the impact of the parenting role in society; taking responsibility for individual growth within the parenting role; preparing for a healthy emotional and physical beginning for parent and child; meeting developmental needs of children and adolescents; building positive parent-child relationships; and obtaining parenting information, support, and assistance. Teachers highlight the basics skills of math, science, and communications in the content.
Introduction to Food Occupations

This course focuses on identifying and exploring the individual careers within the food service industry. Units of study include food science and technology, dietetics and nutrition services, contemporary cuisines and services styles, food and beverage production and preparation, and food safety and sanitation.
Introduction to Fashion Design & Marketing Occupations

This class begins with the elements of fashion design. A brief overview of the fashion industry is given, beginning with the factory and ending with the consumer. Pattern design and garment production techniques are practiced. Fabric characteristics and care are studied.
